Stranglehold is an action game for Windows platforms. The game follows the story of the movie Hard Boiled.

Stranglehold's main character is an Asian detective who can apparently dodge bullets left and right without even sweating a drop. When I first played this game, I couldn't help thinking about Max Payne. Both games are really similar. Both take advantage of slow motion cameras and cover systems to bring fast-paced action to a game that would terribly suck without it. With the use of certain buttons, you can trigger the slow motion camera, which allows you to move faster and react more precisely to the enemy's tactics. If you activate the slow-mo camera and jump towards your enemy, you will be able to shoot 5 bullets to each one of your enemies. The graphics are really nice and are definitely better than Max Payne's. The story isn't terribly deep, but proves at least interesting. The controls are well-thought and easy to use and learn. There are some gruesome animations and injuries, which would make me advise you not letting kids play this game. The Buy Now option on the website takes you to several online retailers. Your best bet is to get this game at Amazon for 9.99.
